WHO AM I?

My name is Geziena Mallett and I have an unwavering passion for narrative writing.
I write to inspire others, evoke emotion and share the many worlds in my head.
Most of the time, I cannot decide what kind of ending my stories should have.  Therefore, I aspire to take part in projects where the player can take multiple narrative paths and experience a myriad of stories.
I am especially interested in writing for visual novels and dating games for the opportunity to create and portray multiple characters that players will enjoy getting to know better.

THE ICE REAPER

Camila winked at Lars before taking her cousins by the hands and led them up to their bedroom.  After helping them get into their nightgowns and tucking them in their beds, Camila sat at the foot of Natasha’s bed.
“Are you ready for the scary story?” she asked.
The sisters nodded, although Lucia had brought the covers up to hide half her face.  Camila grinned and pointed to the window, where the storm continued to rage on.
“When it gets dark like this and a snowstorm rages on, it is dangerous to go outside,” she began.  “Yes, it is cold, and you can’t see anything.  But to one person, it is never too cold or dark to go outside.”
She wiggled her fingers in a dramatic manner.  “The Ice Reaper.”
“What’s an ice reaper?” Natasha asked as Lucia pulled the covers over her head.
“The Ice Reaper is someone who kidnaps people if they are lost in the dark and cold,” Camila replied in an eerie tone.  “He lurks in the woods out there, wearing black clothes to hide in the shadows and his long white hair blends in with the snow.  He will snatch you away and you will never see your family again.”
Now Natasha was trying to hide under the covers.
“Will he get us tonight?” she asked with a timid squeak.
“No.  You’re safe in here.  You must always stay inside where it is warm and light, or he will come for you.”  Camila smiled warmly.  “So you can sleep here safe and sound.”
“That’s good,” Natasha smiled happily.
“But…Mama and Papa go out at night…” Lucia mumbled as she poked her head out of the covers.
Camila hesitated.  “Because they’re adults.  The Ice Reaper only kidnaps naughty children who go outside in the dark.”  Lucia let out an uncertain whine.  Camila got up and kissed her on the head.  “So be good, stay inside when it’s cold and dark, then the Ice Reaper will stay away from you.”
Lucia nodded as Camila went over to kiss Natasha, who had fallen asleep, on the head too.  She watched her older cousin walk out the door, turn the light off and close the door gently.
She lay on her back, looking up at the ceiling.  Camila’s words circled her mind and the little girl realised she couldn’t go to sleep quite yet.
She slipped out of her bed and peered out of the window, watching the snow spiralling outside.  She could see the frozen lake, where they would often ice skate with the other children in the town.  She hoped they would be able to skate tomorrow.  The fun part was to count how many times she would fall over and try to get a smaller number than Natasha.
Across the lake stood the dark woods.  She and Natasha never went there.  She had been curious but after hearing the story of the Ice Reaper, she was definitely not wanting to venture in there.
As she leaned on the windowsill, she spotted a young man crossing the frozen lake, going into the woods.  At first, fear clutched her heart, but she remembered that the man was an adult.  So, he should be safe, right?
That’s when Lucia saw Camila running across the snow and ice.  She slipped, slid and skidded across the ice before disappearing into the darkness.
That was the last time anyone saw her.

BLOOD OF THE GODDESS

The world of Renae was created by three brothers and their sister.  It was a world with beautiful lands. Emerald meadows littered with flowers, sapphire oceans brimming with life and mountains that reached past the clouds.  The siblings decided that they’d live in this beautiful world.

Years went by and the siblings worked together to create life to enjoy their paradise together.

Whilst the brothers preferred to keep to themselves, their sister would live amongst their creations happily.  The new creatures that roamed the land fascinated her.  She enjoyed watching how they interacted with each other, how they settled into their home and how they thrived without needing her help.

It was when they created beings in their image, that the brothers decided to go back to the heavens from whence they came.

Their sister stayed behind and nurtured the new race.  She taught them what they needed to know to survive, such as farming and hunting.

She watched the humans grow and learn her teachings.  It filled her heart with such joy. Although they were weak compared to her, they were resilient.  They had the strength to keep going, no matter how bleak their individual situations were. She aspired to help them through their worst times.

As bright and happy she came across, she yearned for her brothers to come back to their world and enjoy what it has become.  Surely, this beautiful world has become better with these humans.

Her brothers begged for her to return to the heavens.  The humans can survive and live in this world by themselves.  All they should do now is watch them enjoy the world that they have created for them.

The sister stayed in the mortal realm to live with the humans and help them thrive. Without her, they may wither away, and she didn’t want that.  She loved the humans and she’ll nurture them into greatness.

Over the decades, the humans shunned the goddess.  Grief-stricken with their ungratefulness and their fear of the different, the sister grew a forest to hide in.

Even with her brothers visiting to convince her to return to the heavens, the sister remained in Renae.  What if the humans need her once she leaves?

Despite the soul-crushing realisation that no human would dare enter her forest to seek for her guidance, the goddess stayed.  Surely, one day, someone will come for her. Not all humanity could be as cruel as to forget about her.

Centuries passed, and the humans considered the gods and goddess to be myth.  The goddess wallowed in her grief, caged in her own prison. Not even her brothers could help her deteriorating health.

Her miracle came in the form of Raziel.

Raziel was a scholar, someone who pursued myths and legends for their origins.  His search led him to the enchanted forest.

Raziel dabbled in alchemy, which he used to nurse the goddess back to life.

The goddess’s grief faded by his caring heart.  He visited her everyday to keep her company and in return, kept her location a secret.

The goddess told tales of her time on Renae and before Renae’s creation.  Raziel discussed the history of humans since she fled into isolation.

Even though this human had restored her to her happy, bubbly self, the goddess’s brothers insisted she return to the heavens.  This human was just a mortal, and one day he will wither and die, and she will be alone again. Their sister still stayed in her forest, looking forward to Raziel’s daily visits.

Humans were many things.  Every day was a new lesson about a human’s behaviour.  However, the goddess found out too late, how curiosity can drive them.

The more Raziel heard about her tales, the more he yearned to make himself immortal.  Humans weren’t designed to live forever. It was an outlandish idea, even to the goddess herself.  It is a boundary no-one should cross.

Years went by and Raziel’s curiosity became obsession.  He wanted to spend eternity with the goddess. He needed to become immortal and he was running out of time.

The goddess refused him immortality.  It was how humans were built, how they were designed.  To avoid chaos, she must let the cycle of life go on its course.

Raziel wouldn’t take that answer.

So, he stole her blood to use in his alchemical experiments.

Her blood was not red like humans.  It was white, beautiful and radiant.  This was the blood of the gods.

He created his elixir of life and succeeded in achieving his immortality.

Yet, after the last drop slid down his throat, the three gods confronted him.  Furious, they cursed him.

The eldest brother cursed him to suffer with every breath he took.  There will be no cure for his pain, not even death. It would be naught compared to the pain of the alchemist’s betrayal to their sister.

The middle brother cursed him to be alone throughout his eternal life.  He shall be isolated and have not a friend in the world. It would be naught compared to their sister’s isolation.

The youngest brother, however, was more forgiving, having a gentle heart like his sister.  He told the alchemist that should he redeem himself, he’d best learn and appreciate the way they had designed Renae.  Perhaps if he felt remorse for his misdeed, he can be reunited with the goddess he had come to love.

With the curses in place, the gods took their sister back to the heavens, leaving the alchemist alone.

Raziel, blinded with rage, cursed the gods back.  He’ll tear apart this world they so dearly love. Without his goddess and chained with his curses, Renae is no longer a beautiful place.

The accursed alchemist built creations of his own, what people called daemons.  The daemons ravaged the lands, turning the once beautiful landscapes to waste. They hunted the humans mercilessly, destroying their population.

Years passed, and the humans learned to fight against the daemons.  They built fortified walls around their settlements and grew behind them.

Raziel lived out the centuries in pain and in isolation, surrounded by his grotesque children.

He watched everything around him die whilst his curse forced him to cling onto life.  He could concoct solutions to temporarily ease the pain, but nothing could ever cure the everlasting agony.

As he wandered the ravaged lands, he heard tales of a city, Issaih, having a royal family that had contact with the gods and goddess.

Envy and wrath stirring in his heart, he broke into the city to investigate.

The Ficaritas family were established during the age of the first wave of daemons.  The gods bestowed gifts on their ancestor to forge a kingdom to save humanity. Currently, the king had two children as possible heirs.  Prince Orion and Princess Estelle.

Curiosity taking over his rage, Raziel settled into Issaih and observed the royal family’s activities.  Perhaps the future prince and princess may be his key to reuniting with his goddess.
